You should try to meet at or around the the same time when the group is able to do so. Preparation is always important at Russell Area Technical Center, even prior to the study session. Double-check that you have completed all prescribed readings. Familiarize yourself with the checklist of themes that will be reviewed for that meeting. Attending without being ready to study could likely waste your and everyone’s valuable time. Every member should be able to add some talent to the group. If the majority of your study sessions result in just one person providing the leadership all the time, then you might as well hire a tutor. When you do take on a teaching role in the group, you should highlight what you have learned and, usually, it will benefit the group and the learning process. Nancy Haverford began her career by mentoring scores of high school students about navigating college in various US scholastic environments. She has also imparted many hints and tips on looking for examples of admissions essays, more notably for the students who have to write near-perfect essays to shift the focus off of less than spectacular grades before college.
