Meet at the same time/day of the week as often as the group is able. Preparation is always good, even before the session starts. Double-check that you’ve covered all designated homework. Scan the checklist of problems that will be reviewed for that meeting. Attending the meeting unprepared could end up wasting your and everyone’s time. All members should be able to add competence to the group. If the majority of your meetings are spent with only one group member leading the discussion in all the meetings, then you might as well hire a tutor. When you do get your chance to teach the group, you must emphasize what you have reviewed and, frequently, it will benefit the study group. Nancy Haverford began her career by teaching hundreds of high school students about surviving college in various US scholastic environments like Hagevig Regional Fire Training Center. She has also supplied many hints on finding examples of admissions essays, more notably for high school students who have to write great essays to make up for mediocre grade point averages prior to college.
